I was eating a steak today, thinking about what happened when I was a teenager.
To put things into perspective, at 15 I weighed 16 stone. At 16 I got up to 17 stone.
At 17, my mum convinced me to go on this organic health-food binge with her and the rest of the family.
My weight dropped down to 15 stone. One morning I struggled to get up, all I could hear was running water and my muscles were on fire. I got as far as the kitchen, and collapsed. Trembling, I crawled to the fridge, and ate everything that contained protein. I started with a 500g block of cheddar. I opened the cupboard and started on tinned tuna. I HATE tuna. Then I moved onto mackerel and sardines. Lying on the tiled floor, I managed to stand after an hour or two. There was 12 eggs in the fridge, and I ate them all.
It took several days for my strength to return. To get my weight healthy again I started taking creotine, cassalin 90 (milk protein) and iron supplements. After a fortnight I was feeling healthy, and after two months I returned to my original strength. At the lowest point I couldn't physically move my dumbells.
Ironic, that I started taking a cocktail of chemicals to replenish what this 'healthy diet' was lacking in.
For the past 10 years, she's drifted in and out of being anaemic...
Something else that happened at the time, is I wanted to spend my savings on a motorbike. My mum wouldn't let me. Pretty retarded, seeing as I went straight onto huge powerful bikes the second I moved out. I wanted a Virago. The running costs and insurance costs were literally a tenth of the cost of running a car at that age. I spent 2004 doing 7 day weeks, every night in a kitchen from 6pm to midnight, sometimes 1am; working my days off and any study leave. I started selling drugs just to keep the car on the road. I was commuting 2 hours a day for college, then another hour for work.
At 21, I moved out. The first thing I did was sell my car. I'd got the insurance down to £500 due to no claims, but when I bought it I was paying £1300, just like my first car. The same day I bought my first bike and insured it for £200....
I also put myself onto a slightly more 'meaty' diet and quit the supplements. Not eating all those overpriced maggot-ridden veggies really sorted me out, and my weight built up to 19 stone, sometimes if I've just eaten and had a lot of water its 20 stone.
I'm 24 now. I weigh 19 stone and I've got a bike.
My advice to you if you have kids, is don't be a fucking idiot. If your kid wants a motorbike, let them. They'll do what they want anyway, but if you repress it, it'll happen a lot more severely. That's why I've got so many tattoos.
