Is mio liquid safe and healthy?

I found this site searching for info on mio liquid to see if it's safe and healthy. Anyone know? I'm using the diet solution which is great, and I'm trying to find low calorie alternatives to my usual drinks.

I've been doing some research on mio liquid and so far here's what I know. It uses Sucralose which is a bit controversial. It also uses some preservatives and artificial colors which are also questionable. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons here, but I'm just learning about this stuff.

I feel like I should just drink water, but it's so much nicer having something sweet :)

I have found that if you just start drinking water it becomes a habit.....If you use ice it's better.....I can drink a gallon or more in a day......I've heard that the artificial sweeteners can have basically the same effect as sugar with insulin response and can have some nasty side effects.

By the way, welcome to yakkstr!

sugralose is just plain sugar, so technically it's not good for you. I think the preservatives and dyes are more harmful. If it helps you get more water down (within reason) it would be good for you. I think a couple of yakkstrs already use it and like it. I usually keep a large water bottle filled at my desk and take sips throughout the day.

This totally depends on your definition of safe and healthy...Like uni pointed out, sugar isnt even good for you, as in no nutritional value. But when used in moderation, its totally safe and as healthy as anything else that needs to be eatin in moderation.

Now if your a regular person and not some organic raw vegan, its totally healthy...no different than any other water enhancer, and shitloads better for you than soda or other carbonated beverages.

Im a huge fan of the mio liquid...I have an entire post about it on my blog----> mioreview

Im no scientist and do not know much about dyes and preservatives (other than they are in just about everything)...but I give my toddler mio liquid as an alternative to sugary juices. I guess id rather have him drink more water with some dye and preservatives, zero calories and little sugar, than juice with some dye, preservatives, buttloads of calories and sugar. My whole family drinks the stuff and we looooove it.

welcome to yakkstr :)

My suggestion, just drink water, especially for toddlers ;)

Well yea Reck. But if you dont want water 100% of the time, its a good alternative even for toddlers...Jeewilickers, dont be making me feel guilty for letting remi have mio fruit punch...

thanks everyone. I guess I should drink water, but I'm weak :( Mio seems better than the alternatives.

If you want some flavor and don't want the risk of chemicals that we have no idea of their effects, try about 6 drops of liquid stevia in your water. There are also a lot of naturally flavored varities to choose from.

Sucralose is NOT "just plain sugar." That would be sucrose. Sucralose is Splenda, with all the attendant issues pertaining to artificial sweeteners.

Hi silfren, who said sucralose is plain sugar?

OK, I have been drinking Mio for about 4 months now, I have been getting red dry spots all over my arms, legs, hands and feet. My husband kept telling me its the Mio, because it the only thing I have changed. I kept telling him no It can't be. Well about 2 months ago I told a friend of mine about Mio, so she tried it and she stared drinking it more then me, and I was drinking about 8 bottles of water with the Mio a day. Well I went to visit my friend this weekend and she said to me look I'm getting red spots that itch, on my arms and legs. I didn't put two and to together. Until now. Don't you think its strange that we both started drinking Mio and we both have red itchy bumps on us? Just a thought........

did you try to stop drinking mio to see if it goes away?

Why do men cheat with women uglier than their wife?
uni, I think you're onto something. I'm guessing most are afraid to bring it up. I've never been married so I have no idea what it's like to be with someone for that long. It seems odd to me that they couldn't be honest after so many read the rest

Would you use your celebrity free pass?
